Questions to Ask Before Buying Annuity Leads or Appointments

By Advanced Agent Marketing. Published November 4, 2026. Updated November 4, 2026.

Ask these questions before you pay anyone for annuity leads or annuity appointments, including us. A polished deck that skips the definition of a show, the meaning of exclusive, or the price is not an offer. It is a meeting about an offer. Write the answers down and send them to a partner who was not on the call. If your partner cannot restate them, you do not understand the buy yet.

The 2026 guide names twelve companies and reports only what each company's own site publishes, including ours. Where a price, a show rate, or an exclusivity rule is not on that site, the note says it was not published. These are the questions. The guide is the company-by-company write-up. Treat a rep who fills a blank with a new number as a person you still have to verify.

What am I receiving?

A contact record, a live phone connection, a group seminar, or a meeting already on the calendar. Those are different products. If the sentence is fuzzy, stop. Our product is a booked Zoom with a screened prospect, not a raw name. The distinction is the whole point of leads versus appointments.

Who else gets this person?

Exclusive, shared, or exclusive for a limited time. Ask which of those sentences is in the agreement, and for how long it lasts. Exclusive does not mean a guaranteed sale. The longer discussion is exclusive versus shared.

What does qualified mean, in numbers?

Asset floor, what counts as an asset, and how soon the money can move. We require $250,000 or more in retirement savings, excluding real estate, in assets that can be moved. Examples include CDs, savings, checking, 401(k), 403(b), IRA, and brokerage accounts. A qualified prospect has at least the tier minimum, movable within 90 days. Gold is $250,000 to $1 million, Platinum is $1 million to $2 million, Diamond is $2 million to $5 million, and Black is $5 million to $10 million and above. We do not publish an age range the same way. If a rep quotes one, write it down as their statement, not as a number we publish.

What did the prospect see before they met me?

A class, a setter call, a dinner, or nothing. We send qualified people a free annuity masterclass, a series of short videos, and a setter positions you before the Zoom. We cannot guarantee every video is watched. Ask to see the class yourself. Our ads focus on fixed and fixed indexed annuities. We review specific materials against state insurance advertising rules and the NAIC model, and some pieces get a carrier review. That does not review your recommendation. FINRA's annuity overview is a public explanation of why the contracts need a real recommendation rather than a slogan.

What event makes you charge me?

The lead delivered, the transfer connected, the meeting booked, or the meeting attended and qualified. Ours is pay per show. You pay up front. We only charge a qualified show, a real conversation about finances, and there are no other fees. We replace a no-show, a cancellation, or a reschedule, usually within a few hours, when you followed the required process. We replace the same way if they show and do not qualify. The page that keeps this together is pay-per-show annuity appointments. Ask what the required process is, in writing.

What is the price, and what is not included?

Dollar amount, by tier if the price changes with assets, and any retainer, minimum, or add-on. We publish the tiers and not the dollars. Gold is $250,000 to $1 million. Platinum is $1 million to $2 million. Diamond is $2 million to $5 million. Black is $5 million to $10 million and above. Each figure is that tier's minimum asset range. A qualified prospect has at least that minimum, movable within 90 days. The higher the assets, the higher the tier. We do not publish a separate feature list or appointment count for each tier. Pricing shared on a call. The cost guide is the list of numbers that are public and the list that is not. There is no long-term contract, no retainer, and no monthly minimum. A minimum order quantity is not confirmed for publication. Optional add-ons are a CRM, follow-up tools, and done-for-you follow-up. Their prices are not on the site. Do not treat a blank as zero.

What is the show-rate definition, if they quote one?

Numerator, denominator, dates, and exclusions. We published one window, September 9 through October 8, 2026, on the pay-per-show model page: a 65.2 percent show rate excluding cancellations and reschedules, 721 showed out of 1,105 showed or no-show appointments, undispositioned appointments excluded, results vary. The same card's 87.2 percent figure is a qualification rate among showed, reviewed calls, 629 of 721, not a show rate. Do not let a rep slide those together. They are not a forecast for your book. How to read that kind of claim is on the show-rate article.

What happens to money I already paid if I pause?

Credits, refunds, and unused appointments. We state the replacement rule for a missed or unqualified appointment, and you pay up front for qualified appointments. Ask for the rest. Get the answer in the agreement. A verbal "you can always pause" is not a policy we have published.

Who has to be licensed, and where?

You do. We are a marketing and appointment service. We do not make the product recommendation. We book appointments in all 50 states. Confirm you hold the licenses and carrier appointments for the products you will discuss in the state where you make the recommendation.

What averages am I allowed to repeat to my team?

Only the ones you can source. Our averages are about $1.04 million of assets per appointment, a $500,000 annuity case, and a $40,000 commission on a closed deal. They are not an income claim, an earnings projection, or a guarantee. Our average close rate is around 30 percent. It depends on you, and the sale is not guaranteed. Not every appointment will close. If you brief your team, brief that limit in the same sentence as the number.

Case studies and Trustpilot reviews are individual or third-party comments. The case-study page labels them as individual experiences, not typical results. Go read the live review profile rather than trusting a frozen count on a slide. A count changes.

How fast, and how many?

Averages, not a quota. The first qualified appointment arrives within about two weeks of signing up, on average. Most agents start with 10 to 15 appointments a month and scale with capacity and market. A larger number for a firm is a capacity conversation. It is not a second product with a secret faster pipe.

What do I still have to do after I buy?

Show up. Confirm the facts. Give the recommendation. Follow up. If you book a follow-up, you are accepting the lead and you manage later meetings. A missed follow-up is not automatically a credit. Optional done-for-you follow-up is a separate, unpriced add-on, not the default. Your compliance work is not included in the ad review.

How to question us

Use this list on us the same way you would use it on a firm you have never heard of. Our pages are the definitions. The qualification form is the quote. If a spoken answer conflicts with the pay-per-show page or the cost page, believe the conflict. Make us reconcile it in writing before you pay. A company that leaves a price off the page is easier to audit than a company that prints a number it does not honor. That is not automatically the right buy. The right buy is the unit you need, at a definition you can explain to a partner, from a firm whose agreement matches its page.

We set the same questions next to other companies' public pages on the compare index. Those pages cite each source.
